United Church of Christ Petaluma

We are a group of dedicated individuals

passionate about serving the Lord.

Welcome to UCC Petaluma!

We are a progressive church on the west side of Petaluma, a community filled with hope and joy as we love, serve and grow together. We’re here every Sunday morning at 9:30 am to worship, learn, and grow in relationship. There’s great childcare and church school for the kids, thought provoking preaching and worship for the adults and warm community for all ages.

We are united through Christ

We believe in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

God is the creator of the universe and giver of all that is good. God is the savior—known boldly and intimately in Jesus and his life, death, and resurrection—who shows us how to live and love. God is the Spirit who enables us to make a difference in our world and in the lives of others. We believe that grace is the love, honesty, and compassion that God gives and shows us in Jesus. It’s how Jesus saves us, heals us, sets us free, and increases our capacity for love. We believe that we need each other. Whether single, married/partnered, divorced or widowed, it’s a lot easier to follow God with friends than it is by ourselves.

We are here for you

We build connection as a community

through authentic relationship.

We practice caring and warm, we treasure our children and youth, we are invitational, and we foster a sense of belonging.

We practice an engaged spiritual life in our worship and life together.

We practice an engaged spiritual life in our worship and life together:  Our worship life is authentic and responsive to the life of the community.

We are open-minded and curious seekers:  We value questions and seek to learn together.  Each of us is on a spiritual journey.

We practice radical hospitality.

We value openness to new ideas and the people who bring them and are a community of people at very different places on the faith journey.

We believe in the power of Service.

We value active service:  Our faith is always linked to practices of service and justice.

We are open-minded and curious seekers.

We commit ourselves to nurturing a faith community where all people who seek the love and grace of God are welcomed and loved, regardless of race, ethnic or national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, economic condition, or marital status.

We openly welcome and invite all who join in the worship, fellowship, membership, employment, and leadership of our congregation, to participate fully in the life of the church.  We commit ourselves to respond to the needs of those who have experienced exclusion, prejudice, and descrimination.

Come as you are!

When you walk through our doors you may see someone in a suit and tie, but you will also see folks in jeans and t-shirts.   We want to make sure that when you visit you are comfortable - that is what matters most to us.  When you come through our doors, we want you to feel loved and welcomed.  If you ever need anything, please let us know.  If you have a question, please ask someone.  If you have a comment, let someone know or slip us a note.

We love to hear from visitors.
